Hello and Welcome to Twill Designs' first Blog.
I'm so excited, it's the first time blogging for me and first time running my own business so I'm very happy to have you on board.
We launched the first of our tapestry kits at the Quilt and Craft Fair at Darling Harbour a couple of weeks ago. What an incredible experience!! We received a lot of interest about Twill Design Tapestries and so much of the feedback was very positive.
I guess the reason why people like the tapestries so much is because they are contemporary in design and colour. They are also quite small (10cm x 15cm) and so people feel that they will be able to finish a tapestry of that size.
At the Fair I also received some excellent ideas from customers and interested bypassers. They have given me some great ideas such as
- new designs, for example, rose, lady bettle, hearts, dragon fly and shoes
- variety of sizes, for example, 30cm x 30cm
- kids kits (which I've actually been working on and hope to release the range for Christamas)
- diversify what can be done with Twill tapesrties, for example, cushions, makeup bags, pencil cases
I'll be very busy workng on developing the range and all these great ideas.
A big thanks to my friends and family who visited me over the five days and a special thanks to my friends Stacey and Louise for all their help with the stall. Oh and I have to mention an extra special thanks to my Yr 11 Textiles and Design students who came to say 'Hello'.
Last but not least a very special thanks to Sam, Jacob and Madeliene who spent many, many hours leading up to the Fair packing kits and providing me with all the love, courage and support I needed to get through the launch.
